This book is intended primarily as an introductory textbook for students in law faculties and other relevant disciplines in the ECOWAS Member StatesÂ’ Universities. It is hoped also that judicial officers, legal practitioners, researchers, government legal advisers, policymakers and interested readers will find it useful. Full texts of relevant laws have also been reproduced. The book is divided into ten chapters under the following headings:- Chapter 1: Overview of the Development of ECOWAS Chapter 2: Economic and Legal Integration Chapter 3: Migration and Human Rights in ECOWAS Chapter 4: The Challenges of Implementing Durable Solutions to return and Resettlement of Displaced Persons in West Africa:- A Case Study of Nigeria Chapter 5: Access to Justice, Human Rights and ECOWAS Court of Justice Chapter 6: Peace and Security in ECOWAS Chapter 7: Appendices of Legal Texts: ECOWAS Treaties, Supplementary Protocols, Acts, Decisions and Regulations Chapter 8: Texts on Community Laws of Southern, Eastern, Central and Horn of African Sub-regions.
