The atrocities and wanton destruction of property and human lives in the campuses of Nigerian tertiary institutions are symptoms of the moral decadence in the Nigerian society. The linkages between campus cultists, members of traditional associations, politicians and highly placed government officials have rendered impotent every effort to decultise the campuses. It is here recommended the de-institutionalisation of campus cults and the institutionalization of fraternities, in the short term, and the sanitization of the Nigerian society, in the long run, as pre-requisities for eliminating the evils associated with cultism in the campuses of Nigerian tertiary institutions.
