The pheasant takes the snake to court is a Bhutanese folk tale retold in simple English by Rinzin Rinzin with beautiful illustration by Wang Rana Gurung. The Story is about a moth, an old man, a barking deer, a snake and a pheasant. A moth tries to build a nest in an old man’s beard. The old man tries to shoo it away, and a long interesting drama unfolds... All the characters in the story are personified and cartoonized in order to help the readers (children) understand the story better as well as to arouse their interest in reading the story and/or telling the story by themselves by looking at the illustrations.
