The book is an outcome of explorati on of two great traditi ons – the early Christi an traditions and Cultural traditi ons of Northeast India with a special reference to Mizo society. The author asserts that the uncriti cal acceptance of ecclesiology that these tribal churches are inheriti ng from the Western church traditi ons has resulted in the proliferati on of tribal people in line with diff erent denominati ons. Also, uncritical rejecti on of the local cultural traditions has contributed to the superfi cial character of the church which failed to respond to peoples’ problems. The author sought to construct a contextual ecclesiology for tribal Christi ans, based on the early Christi an traditi ons and Tribal cultural traditi ons, by adopti ng a criti cal synthesis method.
