Product Description

With a capacity for up to 8,300 people, the Masjid Raja Haji Fi Sabilillah in Cyberjaya is designed to be more than a place of worship and as a local centre for Islamic activities. It is situated on a 100-acre site which will eventually be part of the new Universiti Islam Malaysia (UIM) Campus and forms an integral part of the overall development complex. W&W Architect is responsible for the design of the master plan of the university campus which includes the mosque location, and its layout concept is based on a Pending, or the royal belt buckle. The design of the mosque is contemporary modern and incorporates traditional Islamic design elements. The goal of the design is to portray Islam as a progressive religion, as well as to reflect the simplicity and purity of modern Malaysian mosque architecture. The mosque was designed in line with the vision of Cyberiaya being a green city of the future. The main emphasis of the design is towards a more modern approach rather than the conventional postmodern typology, emphasising the building’s sustainability elements, but retaining the spiritual design essence of Islam. It is the first mosque in the country to be built using green technology. The mosque complex also includes six units of staff quarters and a multi-purpose hall that can be used for banquets, weddings and indoor sports. It can accommodate 800 people at any one time.
