One year ago, extremist groups made a futile attempt to establish a foothold in what was once the peaceful, vibrant and thriving City of Marawi. It is just fitting that we commemorate the fateful day through the images depisted in this photo book entitled, Marawi: On the War's End.
This work vividly captures the struggles, difficulties and eventual triumph of those who have been affected by that dark moment in our nation's history. On its pages, we see their unwavering faith and determination as they navigate through the war-torn streets and alleys of their home city. Indeed, imprinted throughout this book is the resilience of a noble people who refused to give in to the forces of violence and terror.
