Pham Quynh (1892-1945, pseudonym Thuong Chi) was a great Vietnamese journalist, writer and cultural activist in the early twentieth century. Thuong Chi Literature Collection is a book selected by Pham Quynh himself from articles he wrote in Nam Phong magazine (1917-1934). The book "small" is not really small, with the collection of articles of all kinds (translation, essay, criticism, journalism...), across the fields (culture, literature, education, politics, economics, philosophy...), introducing ancient East-West doctrines, as well as discussing contemporary hot topics (national language, national education...). His calm and cautious expression is reflected in the pages of writing with clear thinking, clear style and still sparkling with subtle, witty and surprisingly accurate comments. In the history of Vietnam, Pham Quynh belonged to a small number of writers who left a great cultural career, both in terms of ideology and the amount of his work. This book is only a small part of the tens of thousands of pages written throughout his dedicated career.
