For centuries, as a bridge between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, and as a place that located on one of the two main routes of Southeast Asian trade navigation, Vietnam has early established a relations with many kingdoms, many cultures and economic centers in Asia and the world. The book you have on hand is a kind of proceedings of international scientific conference that held in Hanoi in May 7 - 8, 2015 by the Department of Archeology of History in collaboration with the Center for Asian Studies (Hanoi National University). The proceedings gathered 29 presentations of experts in the fields of archeology, history, culture, technology ... with three main contents: 1 - The process of occupying and exploiting the sea areas of Vietnam. 2 - Results of marine archeology study in Vietnam. 3 - Applying a number of theories and methods in researching and exploiting the archaeological heritage of Vietnamese sea islands.
