It is a collection gathering a total of 24 essays that written by many distinctive authors. This is one of the experimental works covering the history of Vietnamese literature in a new approaches, following by the historical works of Duong Quang Ham, Nghiem Toan, Pham The Ngu, Thanh Lang, the group of Le Quy Đon, the Board of Literature - History – Geography, Institute of Literature, Hanoi Normal College, Hanoi University, Vietnam Social Science Committee ... In the professional sense, this book brings together many monographs of the literary historians aiming at lighting some light on some of the most important issues ; problems in looking at a new reference system for Vietnam literary history, from both theoretical and historical perspectives ... to create a new dimensions and approaches. The nature of literary theories and of literary history in the compiling conception of the composers is expressed separately or each other interwoven. The concept of research here does not come from a collective but from many independent writers. And this is not necessarily a literary work, “not aiming at compiling a literary history or a literary historiography”, as the authors have cautiously introduced.
