Luu Quang Vu (April 17, 1948 - August 29, 1988) is a modern Vietnamese playwright, poet and writer. His works have left a significant mark in the hearts of Vietnamese audiences. His work emerged from the postwar years, especially in the 1980s. He spent his youth years in war, in combat and returned to live in a difficult period of the country: post-war, subsidized economy, life very difficult, miserable. Luu Quang Vu's dramas, short stories and poetry are realistic and humane, as well as presenting events at every stage of his life. With a young age of 40, he is the author of nearly 50 plays and most of his plays are successfully toured by the troupes under the direction of many famous directors. He died at the age of 40 in a car accident, leaving a huge and precious legacy for the Vietnamese theater. On the occasion of Luu Quang Vu's 70th birthday, his family announced his never-before-known works.
