Vietnam Old Cities and Provinces is a book that included selected essays and papers of the several authors from the weekly magazine “Indochine” - the publication of the Alexandre de Rhodes’ association. These essays and papers described quite enough all aspects of an old Vietnam reality, from the landscape, lifestyle, folk customs & habits to social policies, politicians, influential figures .... Indeed, after reading almost 500 pages of the book, we have the pleasure of a person who has just been on an exciting trip, we more deeply understand the formation and more fall in love of the beauty of the land. The authors studied carefully the high-rise resorts of Indochina (Ba Vi, Sa Pa, Sam Son, Bach Ma, O Cap); travelling in Indochina (Yunnan railway, the bridges in the Champa kingdom, coastal boats); Vietnamese customs (the courtesy in having meal, the art of Fengshui, teeth-black dying); the formation and the cultural way of life of Cham, Lo Lo, Muong ethic minorities ... The book is a source of meaningful reference for readers.
