The book composed of the two volumes of memoirs: Born by the People and The Unforgettable Years of Vo Nguyen Giap (1911 - 2013) - a controversial general of Vietnam. The content of the book refers to two periods of revolutionary struggle related to the survival of the Vietnam nation - preparing to seize political power and the very first year just after the Revolution of August 1945 of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. As one of then-Vietnam communist party's key leaders at the crucial time of the difficult and challenging history, the author re-enacts the epic history of Vietnam nation under the leadership of the Vietnam communist party, especially image of President Ho Chi Minh during a revolutionary period that sometimes the fate of the country like “thousands of pounds hanging by hair”.
