The Anthropology of Reconciliation and Peace: critically assesses the relationship between context-specific approaches to conflict resolution and generic, transferable approaches (principally promoted by INGOs and international donors); discusses the re-traditionalisation of conflict resolution; analyses practices that seek to preserve the memory of violent conflict and hold perpetrators to account as requisite elements of reconciliation; and considers key contemporary responses to violent conflict, including truth commissions and international criminal tribunals.
