On 26th October 2018 for 52 days Sri Lanka was at standstill when President Maithripala Sirisena sacked Ranil Wickremesinghe as PM and appointed Mahinda Rajapaksa in his place. Parliament was first prorogued and then dissolved and the issue ended up at the Supreme Court where a seven member bench declared that the action of the president was unconstitutional. The verdict delivered by the SC is recorded in full in the book as well as recounting of the dramatic events of the 52 days Democracy survived but the drama continues.
