The movement away from the traditional concept of security has shifted the focus from the State as a point of reference to Political, economic and socio-cultural aspects that brought into discussion the concept of internal security. The Issues raised in this book relate to some indirect threats in the context of ethnicity, identity, and developmental issues of backward regions and such direct threats that are seen in the context of Left Wing extremism, issues in Kashmir and the North East.
