The Law relating to Sale of Goods has a very long history where the earliest writing in the form of a text book was written by Sir Mackenzie Chalmers in 1890, three years prior to the passing Sale of Goods Act of 1893 by the UK Parliament. Chalmers wrote his monograph based on the available Common Law found in the decisions of the courts during the previous years.
