Art and artisan of Hue Imperial Capital (L’Art a Hue) was a special publication of B.A.V.H (No. 1/1919), first released in 1919. After that, it was reprinted to become an independent work with 398 pages presented vividly and nicely with many drawings and illustrations. The book is considered to be one of the first and only rare scientific studies on visual arts in Hue since 1919. Through the published works of L. Cadiere, readers can easily identify his widely interdisciplinary knowledge from history, ethnography, beliefs, languages, archeology ... But what L. Cadiere shows in the book is not only the studies that show the depth of knowledge and experience in Hue, but also the passionate affection of a heart sympathetic to the people of this country: “I understand Vietnamese people because I research what is relevant to them. I love Vietnamese people because they are smart, excellent and agile. I also love Vietnamese people because they have been through so much suffering ”.
