Although the general growth rate of the world economy in 2018 was approximately the same as that in 2017, on a case-by-case basis, many economies experienced a significant decrease or decrease compared to the previous year. Difficult problems also increase with the emergence of new unpredictable risks. It can be said that after an impressive 2017 growth, the world economy began to show signs of differentiated growth and slowed down in 2018. Contrary to the difficult situation of many other economies in the world, Vietnam's economy in 2018 is expected to prosper with an impressive growth rate of 7.08%. This is the highest growth rate in 10 years since the economic crisis in 2007. The book includes two parts: Part I presents an overview of the world economy, countries and regions in 2018 and the first months of 2019 based on the analysis of the following 6 groups of issues: Growth rate; Global trade; Global investment; Global financial market; New dynamics of the economy 4.0; Risks of the global economy. Part II presents an overview and analysis of some of Vietnam's outstanding economic, social and environmental issues in 2018.
