Dr. Pham Thi Yen's book contributes to elucidating the geographic location of Cam Ranh Bay, especially the role of this bay in the security, politics and economy of Vietnam as well as the region. At the same time, the author analyzes the strategic value of Cam Ranh in a system of issues of international relations in the Asia-Pacific region from the beginning of the 21st century to the present. The book also presents views of the foreign policy of the US, Russia, India, Japan and China towards Vietnam as well as Vietnam's views, policies and foreign policies towards those countries, placed in connection with Cam Ranh Bay. The analyzes and interpretations in the book show the author's own views and have high scientific value. With a rich source of documents, including many archives, the author assesses the initial achievements of Vietnam's international cooperation with major countries in Cam Ranh Bay from 2002 to the present.
