Vietnamese press appeared late compared to the press of a number of countries in the world but developed at a fast pace, becoming a modern Revolutionary Press. Nearly one hundred years since the first Vietnamese newspaper appeared in 1865 until 1945, the Vietnamese press has overcome the challenges and that journey has been recognized. The period 1930 - 1945 was the most flourishing period of the press before the Revolution. The press is both a bastion of thought and an effective propaganda task through two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism. Professor Pham Dinh Lan in teaching history of journalism has chosen an approach to introduce some specific newspapers, typical for progressive, patriotic and revolutionary press trends. This book brings together a number of articles, analytical articles in his many years of research and teaching.
