Forewords: 'We are delighted to present to you the Proceedings of the 3rd International Gradutate Research Symposium (IGRS) hosted by the University og Languages and International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), with more than 80 papers which have gone through a careful review process. It is interesting to see a wide variety of topics covered by all the papers, including, inter alia , discourse analysis, semantics, syntax, pragmatics, the use of social media as a new language teaching platform, teachers' professional development, teaching methodology, CLIL, translation studies, even issues like student drop-out in Indonesia. Also, we are happy to have received research papers concerning different languages, not just English, from graduate students in various countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, China, Australia, Sudan, amongst others. This demonstrates the attraction of the IGRS hosted by ULIS-VNU and the extensive academic intersts of graduate students around the globe in these fields."
