Product Description

Nguyen Trai (1380 - 1442), pen name of Uc Trai, was a prominent politician and military man who actively participated in the Lam Son Uprising against the invasion of the Ming Dynasty (China) with Dai Viet. He is a national hero and a cultural celebrity of the world. He's also a famous poet in Vietnamese history. His book, written in Chinese characters, provides a brief overview of Vietnam's administrative and natural geography through historical periods, compiled in 1435. The book was translated and edited into Vietnamese based on a version engraved in the Year of the Dragon (1868), under the reign of Emperor Tu Duc. The content of the book consists of 54 articles (not classified into chapters or sections), presenting the geographical location, the shape of mountains and rivers, history, soil, specialties, some traditional crafts and customs of the resident communities. The content of the book is not yet detailed but it has great value in terms of historical geography.
