The book is a doctoral study by author Nguyen Van Thoan, a monk who has spent nearly 10 years living at the Phat Tich Pagoda in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The work has a quite comprehensive system of Buddhist culture, which is clearly shown in the material and spiritual life of the Vietnamese living in Laos; fully reflects the religious and religious life of monks and nuns in Laos, throughout parts of Laos such as Luang Phabang, Vientiane, Savannakhet, Champasak,... In the context of long-term living with Laotians, the Vietnamese community has embraced Lao Theravada Buddhist culture, leading to a transformation to meet the spiritual cultural needs, as well as creating favorable conditions for the new socio-cultural integration in Laos. The author stated that Buddhism of Vietnamese people in Laos is a spiritual support for Vietnamese people in their daily lives. Monks are both comforting friends when facing obstacles in life and are the ones who take the lead when they leave this world.
