The East Sea (South China Sea) is the gateway to the Pacific Ocean of Vietnam, an area of special importance in transport, international trade and strategic security. Therefore, this place has become the focus of international relations in Asia - Pacific. Based on the special position related to the East Sea, along with the history of national sovereignty establishment in this sea, as well as the legal grounds prescribed by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, Vietnam affirmed its full sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction in accordance with its laws and international conventions on the sea and two Paracels, Spratlys. This book is designed to generalize the process of establishing and enforcing Vietnam's sovereignty over sea and islands with full scientific and legal basis.
