This book is a selection of 130 poems of Wang Anshi, most of them are Quatrains and rhyme poems, compiled by famous Canadian Sinologists Wang Jian and Li Ying. In addition, it also includes a research article on Wang Anshi's poems with a heavier academic weight.
According to Wang Anshi's creative process, this book divides his poems into eight categories, namely: occasional poems, sympathy, indignation, ambition, self-pity, lack of ambition and reluctance, consciousness, and reconciliation. Each category has an overall introduction. Each poem is accompanied by original hand-drawn color illustrations. The illustrations are both quiet, super far-reaching, compassionate, elegant and fun of Feng Zikai's paintings and the ease and freedom of old tree paintings.
