During the British Colonialism, Muslims, by and large were found to be reluctant in embracing modern education through the English language both for political and Socio-religious reasons. One of the major causes of resentment for the Muslims against the British was the Replacement of Persian by English as the court language and owing to which Muslims lost employment avenues.Consequently the English Language in Most Parts of northern British India. was declared as the language of the infidels/kafirs/Christians/non-believers.
