The Nigeria –Biafra war (1967 – 1970) was gruesome and genocidal, with more than three million dead. In the absence of Biafra leader, General Odumegwu Ojukwu, General Effiong surrendered to Nigeria's Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon. Gowon declared, 'No victor, No vanquished', to the relief of the entire nation, even though the eastern region had been split into states to prevent the Igbos access to the oil resources and outlet to the Bight of Benin and the Atlantic Ocean.The quick recovery of Ndigbo as they moved back to Nigeria was unpredictable. But the Federal government did not run an inclusive governance as she removed the Igbos from all sensitive posts. The unhealthy rivalry within the southern ethnic tribes compounded their woes to the northern oligarchy's advantage.The Igbos feel alienated as the present 1999 Nigeria Constitution is grossly repressive, with a lack of Federal presence in Igbo states and the dire need for infrastructure to enhance commerce and investment. This book is a clarion call to encourage Ndigbo to go and rebuild their homeland with the tenacious resilience for survival, which made them bring development to all parts of Nigeria. With the global recession, Nigeria is not left out. There is a need to encourage the creation of autonomous states for the fast recovery of the economy, at this period of terrorist insurgence when citizens live in fear and farmers cannot grow crops. To regain Nigeria's pride as the leading country in Africa, she must restructure now.
