This Book is an expository on lower Courts in Nigeria constitutionally referred to as 'Such other Courts' also known in other climes as 'Court of limited jurisdiction' access to justice before these Courts and needed system reforms.
The Book traces the historical underpinnings of the court systems, the Magistracy and effect of the status of inferiority attached to lower courts in Nigeria, suggesting perhaps a connection between the status of inferiority and quality of justice dispensed in these courts.
It investigates how independent lower court judges are to perform their duties without undue influence? How insulated are they from political interference? How are their personal security and safety protected? Concluding it is high time that this inferiority status is erased through a re evolution of this courts, because the set-up, control, funding, security of tenure of these courts and its judges invariably affect its efficiencies and invariably the quality of justice it dispenses.
