This story features the unlikely friendship between a young python and a young frog, as they embark on a journey in search of the Herpetology Lab, which they believe will protect their species. The book seeks to foreground the plight of native Singapore animals as they cope with their changing landscape, and how they grapple with the loss of their homes due to urbanization. At an allegorical level, this story is about us, as we grapple with our own fears of other “species” (race, religion, orientation etc) taking over our country, and our insecurities of what “home” means to us.
