I’m A Survivor is well written and captures a wide variety of topics, the most prominent being the story of the writer, the depths of the pain of a true ‘warrior’ and the heights of triumph. It is highly descriptive and vividly captures beautifully the sounds and sights, the culture of his upbringing, the significant emotional experiences that shaped him, the influences of his environment and education and how they all contributed to his success in his personal and professional life and in his struggle against the Sickle Cell Disorder.
