This book is the brainchild of the primary author in the South Pacific region. It attempts to explain the history, evolution, and application of the introduced law of the land system, in the region and discusses the current scenario of the development of cybercrime laws, climate change-related legal issues, the World Trade Organisation law practice, and its effects on the region, the economic background of the Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG) and policies on the financing of law studies. The underlying idea of the book is that the law rules that people should be justified and righteous. The book also touches upon the impact of legal practice in Fiji, mostly concerning the right of inheritance of defacto couples in Fiji, and the review the case of lawyers practicing without valid practicing certificates. Although the book has been written for anyone interested in the concept of the development of the law in the region, the technical and legal jargon used can be a little bit overwhelming for people who are not from a legal background.
