ABOUT 50,000 YEARS AGO, the peoples who Lived in the hills above the present day Bulathsinhala in Sri Lanka were exceptionally good at hunting animals in the trees and fishing using bows & arrows, spears and fishing nets. They achieved that using piercing heads made from animal bone splinters. This recent finding is notable in the history of humanity world over since these are the earliest definitive evidence for high powered projectile hunting in tropical rainforest environment and earliest evidence for bow & arrow technology outside of Africa.
