This book provides an overview of the anti-terror criminal laws in Sri Lanka, with a focus on the Prevention of Terrorism Act as amended last in March 2022, and the Public Security Ordinance and the application of Emergency Regulations thereunder. An overview of the criminal justice system of Sri Lanka is provided to better understand how the anti-terror laws are enforced in practice. The book also contains a brief reference to certain corresponding laws in India, USA and UK. The international legal standards applicable to Terrorism and the principles of International Humanitarian Law are discussed with special reference to the Sri Lankan legal system.
