The Grace of Kings on Imperial Archives of Nguyen Dynasty introduces readers to the forms of imperial approval of the kings of the Nguyen Dynasty, contributing to providing more information about the guiding ideology of the emperors of that period, as well as the way to approve the written royal document in the Nguyen dynasty's clerical regime. The book includes 181 typical editions selected from the original 773 volumes of the Imperial Archives to introduce readers to the rich and unique forms of imperialism on the administrative documents of ten of the thirteen Nguyen Dynasty kings. The content of the documents reflects all aspects of Vietnamese society (1802-1945), especially during the period when the Nguyen Dynasty was still an independent dynasty (1802-1884). From 1884 to 1945, the Nguyen Dynasty lost its real power and Vietnam fell under French colonial rule. Therefore, the grace of the Nguyen kings on imperial archives during this period was not as rich and diverse in form and content as the previous kings.
