Southern folk poems and folk songs are different from Northern and Central Vietnamese folk music in that they have specific features of the region. In couple love, if Northern folk songs have very loving words such as "minh - ta", "ta - minh", then in the South, the words "qua-bau" are very affectionate. In Southern folk songs, people are always abstained from the kings and the elders in the family. This does not happen in the folk songs of the North. Also, Southern folk songs often use a lot of Chinese sentences, characters in Chinese stories as well as singing and responding.
