On March 7, 1979, Japanese journalist Takano Isao fell on the land of Lang Son, due to bullets from Chinese invaders. He is the only foreign journalist to die in the Northern Border War of 1979. Takano's death has deeply touched the hearts of the Vietnamese people and the progressive people in the world. There are many articles, poems, songs, movies written about him, using him as inspiration, the most famous of which is "Takano - The brave witness" by musician Pho Duc Phuong.
