"The art of illustration of costumes and hats of the Nguyen Dynasty early 20th century" by author Tran Minh Nhut is an art research work with a focus on studying elaborate artworks Grande tenue de la Cour d'Annam (meaning: An Nam court dress) by painter Nguyen Van Nhan, aimed at deciphering the typical artistic visual language, or the impact of Western art in the period of East-West cultural interference in the early twentieth century. Thereby, honoring the skillful painting talent of painter Nguyen Van Nhan; consolidating and evaluating the artistic values of the paintings when reflecting on the costumes of the Nguyen Dynasty, and at the same time appreciating the author's contributions to the country's fine arts.
