Each poem in Vignette of Voyages celebrates the restorative and transformative power of travel, told in retrospect. The author hopes to take each reader along with her to see poppies in Lucerne, smell wisterias in Monet’s garden, sip lavender tea and imagine gnomes in the midnight sun through the power of poetry. The journey of this book spans ten years of travelling and a pandemic. By evoking her memories, she tries to bring each place alive by exploring the senses, excavating the self and examining the remains of her travels: insights gleaned and narratives remembered. Elvie Victonette Razon-Gonzalez has been writing poems since she was a girl but stopped when she became a doctor and mother of four children. This is her first collection of poems.
