The growing incidence of moral decay, loss of values and the crisis of character in the average young person has become, practically, the concern of every (right-thinking) person in the contemporary Nigerian society. A culture of impunity and lawlessness has become the stock-in-trade of highly placed members of society. There is even a manifest fear that corruption has spiralled out of control; as the state of infrastructure deficit and decay is grossly incongruous with the huge inventory of resources squandered on poverty reduction and social transformation, with infrastructures duly appropriated but not delivered for use. Worse still, the allegations and counter-allegations on corrupt practices trading places amongst the ruling elite, on a daily basis, does not create room for optimism that all will be well in the foreseeable future.
