This the second volume of the series and focuses on the issue of violence against women. Violence has been addressed in its different forms: physical and psychological. Violence perpetrated by intimate partners and family members is most common. Case studies of women subjected to domestic violence, sex trafficking, forced marriage, bride sale, threat of honour killing and as witness to infanticide and incest who sought shelter in crisis centres, provide harrowing accounts of violence. Analysis of Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) data for the Punjab (2017-18) identifies factors that help women in countering domestic violence as well as empowering them in reaching out for justice.
