The book explores the evolving role of Muslim women in East Asian societies and the rise of these societies in the world economy and politics, and how a significant fraction of their population is Muslim. Focusing on Japan, Korea, and China, the book examines women in these communities have experienced shifts in their roles, becoming leaders, scholars, mediators, and bridge-builders, in addition to traditional roles.
