Barnard Beukman discusses Media24's controversial decision in 2024 to close down Beeld, as well as Rapport, Daily Sun and City Press newspapers. Barnard Beukman is a freelance journalist and current affairs commentator based in Johannesburg. He was the twelfth and last editor of Beeld. Before his editorship, he worked as General Manager of Beeld and Rapport. In 2024 he was honoured by the FAK for his contribution to Afrikaans media.
